HOW TO WEAR THE BEST COLOR COMBO OF THE SEASON: PINK + RED

If you’re tapped in on the happenings within the fashion world, you’d know that Fashion Month has just come to a close. While I love seeing what’s coming down the runway, I personally love seeing the street style surrounding the shows even more. It’s where I get my more “realistic” inspiration for what to be wearing – especially what to be wearing right now. I absolutely LOVED all of the menswear inspired looks – nothing makes me happier than a bad ass power suit. But of all the recent street style looks I loved, I was hands down drawn the most to the looks that incorporated bold reds or bold reds paired with bold pinks. I looked at some of these looks and thought, “I DEFINITELY need to try that.” Wearing pink and red together makes for quite the statement, but there are certainly ways to take the trend and make a bit more casual or approachable for day-to-day look.

The easiest way to make pink and red work as a more casual look would be to go with more muted tones, or pair one bold color with one more muted color – kind of like what I’ve done with this look. I chose to pair my aggressively bold red patent leather skirt with a more pale pink colored top so it felt a bit more balanced and not too loud. Don’t get me wrong, there’s a time and a place to go ALL out and pair a bold red pant with a hot pink top, but if we’re taking this trend to the streets we have to consider balance. Red has always been my favorite color, and I love seeing it everywhere this season. From boots, to blazers, to bags, you definitely need to throw a splash of red in your closet this season!
