HOW TO DRESS FOR FALL WHEN IT FEELS LIKE SUMMER

Oh hello! It’s me! I’m back again, totally alive, all is well. Last week I was shooting something VERY exciting with Visit California, so I was a bit MIA on all fronts while filming. We’ll have to wait to chat about the shoot logistics but in the meantime, it’s back to our regularly scheduled programming.

Turns out it’s still summer in LA – who knew? So it’s been miserable the past few weeks attempting to wear even ONE of the trends for Fall. If it doesn’t look like a mini dress and sandals, I don’t wanna wear it. But I’ve been making a point to find ways to pair my new favorite trends for Fall with practical pieces from Summer. One of my favorite looks right now is high waisted shorts  – the ones we wore ALL summer – paired with the perfect long checked blazer for Fall. You can make this look so chic yet casual, and the best part is you probably wont over heat in this 80-90 degree weather but you’ll still be rocking a hint of a cooler weather look.

All of my favorite blazers right now I’ve found at Zara. True story, and I can’t seem to stop buying them. They price point out at between $100 – $150 each and in the scheme of things those are pretty great prices for such classic closet staples. I love the more oversized, boyfriend type blazers because they’re great for layering. There’s a chance we’ll never have to layer again this year at the rate this heat is maintaining in LA, but if it were to…. oversized is key. Eventually you’ll be able to rock this type of blazer with a pair of skinny jeans or trousers, but for the foreseeable future, shorts and close-toed pumps it is!
