Yes, National Vanilla Cupcake day is a “real” thing and I don’t think any of us are all that mad about it? “Why Vanilla Bake Shop in particular” you say? Well, lets start with the most obvious of reasons,*cough cough* the title, but it’s not to go un-noted that the Vanilla team has been positively written up everywhere from Brides magazine to Angeleno, and they go down in cupcake history as one of the competitors on the Food Network Challenge. Treat yo’self with a box of Vanilla Bean/Cinimon Vanilla/Chocolate Vanilla Bean “Cupcake Babies” (mini cupcake morsels) and give Vanilla Cupcake Day the proper justice it deserves.

Kye’s | Santa Monica
STAY TUNED FOR A FULL/DEDICATED POST THIS WEEK…. but in the meantime may I present you with Kye’s: my new favorite thing since the creation of non-dairy ice cream (which they offer in the form of delicious and healthy shakes!). Kye’s – also located on Montana Ave in Santa Monica – opened it’s doors last week and has already fed hundreds of curious hungry and health conscious customers. Delicious, hearty, healthy, food that doesn’t skimp on taste, comfort, or quality? Yes please? (visit their site and read more about their story and wtf a Kyerito is here – let me just preface with, they’re addicting.)
