It is officially technically Fall and already I can’t seem to stop trying to force jackets/pants/cozy clothes on myself. Nonetheless while we wait for the temperature to cool down we should focus on putting together some “transitional” type looks, and light weight trousers and denim jackets seem to be my personal lifesavers as of late. High wasted trousers go great with a classic crop top or off the shoulder blouse, and they’re the perfect type of pant to wear from work straight to your evening plans – these pants have become my favorite article of clothing in my closet for this exact reason! But if we’re focusing more on the trendy transitional pieces for Fall, it’s got to be embroidered denim. Whether that be embroidered skirts, pants, or jackets, fun/funky embroidery is IN. I’ve seen everything from cute sayings, words, patchwork, to peoples names embroidered on jackets and it’s a truly a great way to liven up a look.
A lot of brands like Madewell for example are offering custom embroidery right now so you can design your denim piece to your own unique specifications. My favorite place for custom embroidery work in Los Angeles is Lot Stock & Barrel; I haven’t quite gotten around to getting a “made to order” embroidered vintage jacket of my very own, but trust me, it’s up there at the top of my LA bucket list. For now though I’ll be wearing the heck out of my Levi’s vintage denim jacket, repping the boys in blue, and having a blast doing it!
