WHAT IS DARLING?
DARLING IS MORE THAN A MAGAZINE, IT’S A MOVEMENT. A CATALYST FOR POSITIVE CHANGE… A VOICE OF ENCOURAGEMENT… A WISE GUIDE TO “THE ART OF BEING A WOMAN” IN EVERY SEASON OF LIFE… JOIN THE REVOLUTION.
SPEAKING of #womancrushwednesday… I’m head over heels for this magazine and all of the incredibly inspiring women behind this “Darling movement”. I had the pleasure of being a part of the Darling community for an afternoon of food and friendship in celebration of their latest girl-power event: the “Darling Brunch”. The brunch was hosted in collaboration with another one of our hardcore #womancrush’s and a shared friend of Darling and myself – Kara of Willow & Niche – at her darling downtown LA loft. The setting could not have been any more perfect for the occasion; I swear between the smell of freshly baked biscuits, the gorgeous morning light completely softening the space, and that darn j’adorble cocktail station with hand written labels… I’m surprised I didn’t cry over all the cuteness.
All in all it was a morning filled with Pinterest worthy everything, energized and encouraging conversation, and of course, a delicious home cooked “family style” breakfast. I did not exactly know what to expect, let alone who to expect to meet at this brunch besides a whole lotta ladies, but as is anything associated with Darling, I was surrounded by 20+ inspiring women from all walks of life, living at a variety of stages in life. It was such a treat to be in conversation and to find so much common ground and shared ideals between so many strong women, it surprised me a bit how much it turned out to be kind of like a really fun, really happy group therapy session? Even if I may not see or speak to any of them going forward, which I hope I do, I walked away from the day thrilled to have met so many girls I’d consider to be “life givers” with supportive fresh perspectives.
If meeting a ton of cool chicks who are all into styling, pretty things, food, cocktails and most importantly hanging out with other cool chicks sounds as awesome to you as it does to me, then a dinner (or a brunch!) with Darling is a must. They appear to host them quite often so fret not if you don’t make it to the next one they’ve got lined up! There will be more my darlings. Here’s a few things for you to check out in the meantime:
