And so begins the best part of the end of the year, and just as years past I’m wrapping it all up, present by present, bow by bow, and gifting you with a few of my “Top 5 Favorites” of 2014. In honor of #FashionFriday, we’re kicking off the Five Favorite awards in style by presenting you with the best “fashion design discoveries” I’ve made at Love & Loathing Los Angeles over the year.  The brands who made the cut are making quite the names for themselves locally and globally, but have most importantly created a supporter out of Love & Loathing LA via each of their unique styles/collections that just about any LA girl can get behind.

calvinrucker

Badass design duo Caroline Calvin and Joie Rucker bring to life their rocker chic, “casual couture for the working class” line stemming straight outta LA, and can be seen worn by yours truly on almost a daily basis. Rocking a feminine style with an edge doesn’t get much better than with Calvin Rucker. – calvinrucker.com

dwp

Let’s be real for a second; anything that Gwen Stefani touches turns to gold and frankly, I want whatever she got. DWP (Design With Purpose) is a “lightweight-basic” collection designed by Queen Gwen Stefani and denim expert Michael Glasser (Rich & Skinny, 7 For All Mankind, Citizens of Humanity) and never has simple and comfy looked so chic.

RIPLEYRADER

Ripley Rader may officially be LA’s jumpsuit queen but her latest Winter collection is proving much much more than her infamous one-pieces. From sequins, to bell bottoms, to structured crop tops, Ripley knows trends and she knows what LA girls want. It’s one of those collections you think to yourself “I’ll take one of everything.”
