The Bacon Burbonator from The Morrison Pub

EPIC BURGER AND HAPPY HOUR ALERT… I’ve been a frequent patron to The Morrison Pub for quite some time now, not only because of its location, which is so conveniently positioned minutes away from Dodger Stadium, or because I have friends who live within walking distance of their front door, but truly just because this place serves damn good pub food, adult beverages, and a most impressive happy hour.

The Onion Rings from The Morrison Pub

One thing I particularly fancy about this place is that it feels like they’re never closed: you want lunch? cool, they’re open. you want a happy hour drink at 4pm? cool, they’re open. you want a late night snack and beer after the game? cool, they’re open. breakfast at 10am on the weekend? great, go get that. It’s a beautiful thing.

As if that’s not enough to get me in there, their burger menu is quite extensive, their wine list is pretty on point (yes so is the beer, don’t be stupid, they call themselves a “pub” for a reason), their sweet potato fries and onion rings are offensively delicious, and that dollop of heaven they call the “Butterscotch Bread Pudding” is almost worth losing friends over for not sharing.

The Morrison Pub Sliders

The Morrison Happy Hour doh. You know when you go out for happy hour deals, you show up to where ever it is you decided to try, and you find there really aren’t any deals at all? There’s ONE glass of wine to choose from, there’s ONE beer, there’s like TWO small bites that don’t even seem all that happy… Well good news, The Morrison is not that. This place completely and whole heartedly understands and respects the needs of its Happy Hour loving LA neighbors and dammit do they do us proud.

Sweet Potato Fries from The Morrison Pub

They offer a $5 menu with sliders, wings, a salad, potato skins, all the fries in the world, and mac n’ cheese… There’s a whole $5 specialty/craft cocktail menu featuring FIVE options, and all beer, well cocktails, and wine by the glass are $5. Fuck. Yes. But oh does it get better, their happy hour is offered every single damn day from the hours of 4 – 7 pm, again from 9 – 11 Sunday – Thursday, and 10pm – 1am Friday – Saturday. There are few things that make me happier than happy hour, and this is one spot in LA who knows to get properly cheery. But truth be told even if you don’t make it in time for the golden hour, a burger off their exquisite burger menu is a must, I highly recommend you try the Bacon Burbonator or their most recent creation, the Ramen (Ramon) Burger, and what ever you do don’t forget a side of sweet potato fries, onion rings, and dessert – they’re good for you. They’ll make you a more enjoyable person overall, I’m sure of it.
