‘Muira pauma’, ‘chaga’, ‘mucuna’, ‘maca’-whata? You may not be able to pronounce half of the organic vegan non-gmo ingredients Lifehouse Tonics + Elixirs has in their arsenal, but fortunately for now we can leave the diction and ingredient mixing to the masters. The brains behind West Hollywood’s new kid on the block, Lifehouse, strive to bring the community a concept that offered access to not only herbs/superfoods/medicinal mushrooms, but also delicious ways in which to enjoy them by way of smoothies and fresh “probiotic tonics”.
Lifehouse is in their first week of business and already creating quite the buzz over their delicious, borderline indulgent smoothies and their incredible “Instagram-worthy” interior. After what I experienced today let’s just say, I get it. I’m not one who avidly seeks out the more uber healthy foods, but Lifehouse admittedly had me curious if in fact any of these crazy foreign ingredients (foreign at least to MY diet) would even taste good… like at all. Well, look who’s laughing now because Lifehouse sure showed me! My girlfriend I ventured with even made a comment post consuming that went a little something like, “wow, you inhaled that”. So, there’s that. If you’re curious which one I “inhaled” it was the “Greenhouse Chip” which comes with – you ready for this – almond milk, cashew milk, mint extract, cacao nibs, barley grass, wheat grass, oat grass, maca, eleuthero, astragalus, cordyceps, tocos, cacao butter, almond butter, coconut oil, erythritol, and stevia. Sounds a little crazy sure, but it tasted like a damn mint chocolate shake! I kid you not.
It might be one of the most “LA” things you can obsess over, but think how lucky we are to have places like Lifehouse lookin’ out for us, investing in our health in delicious, fun, and insanely inventive ways. If you’re looking for your next healthy indulgence, Lifehouse has you covered.
