CURRENT OBSESSION: WINTER FLORALS

I don’t always wear floral prints… but when I do! They look a little somethin’ like this. For me the issue I have with some floral prints is that they start to border on “children’s section” vs “I’m a classy broad and I like flowers.” But when you find the right print, on the right dress, at the right time of year – magic. There’s a few brands out there who are always hitting these prints out of the park no matter what time of year it is, namely Reformation, but right now Zara has been hot on the trend this season as well.

For me the differentiating factor between summer florals and winter florals is the color palette. Winter florals usually have darker, more jewel undertones and they give you more of a “moody” vibe. I have now bought four, I repeat 4, floral type dresses from Zara in the past month and I don’t think I’ll be slowing down any time soon with all of these great designs that keep coming out – *at such wonderful prices*.

Right now my favorite way to wear florals is actually by pairing them with serious combat/military type boots. We all know I’m not the most feminine of dressers, but I definitely love to dabble and add certain ladylike pieces into my everyday repertoire. After all, I am a lady. I’m just a lady who likes to wear leather and menswear a lot! But my personal way of balancing out these big beautiful floral patterns is by adding an edgy jacket or an edgy pair of shoes, like these classic Balenciaga biker boots for example. Winter florals are perfect for holiday parties, they’re great for work, and they’re ideal for the perfect “day to night” look. I’ve worn this dress from LA to NYC, with sandals to tights and boots, and it’s been an absolute favorite of mine this holiday season.

Are you obsessing over winter florals too? Where are you finding your favorite pieces and how are you dressing them up? Share in the comments!!
