Scarpetta: OUT (boo), Georgie: IN (but yay)! Georgie is the latest and greatest breakfast/lunch/dinner restaurant to open in the heart of Beverly Hills at the Montage Hotel. And so far things seem to be moving along quite swimmingly for the grandiose and gorgeous new spot. If you’d been to Scarpetta you remember the size and sohpistication of the space. Not much of that has changed since Georgie took over, but they did hire John and Christine Gachot of Gachot Studios to spruce it up a bit via adorable tiled floors and overarching hints of pink, green, ivory, and blues. There’s simply no denying that it’s beautiful. The whole damn thing.

I love any excuse I can get to eat breakfast out during the week, especially if that breakfast comes complete with al fresco dining, delicious food, fresh juices, strong coffee, and a perfect vantage for people watching. Georgie is all that, a fancy hotel, AND a gourmet bag of chips. Sometimes when you’re in the mood for a hotel breakfast, and you want to do it right, you accept the fact that the prices are going to be “hotel prices”. But when the food/experience doesn’t match up it can be quite the disappointment, I have to say though that thankfully this is not the case with Georgie. It’s fair and it’s fantastic. What they offer on their breakfast/brunch menu is everything you’d want to be there; from their more sweet treats to their savory centric dishes they nail it all. I didn’t have one thing where I thought, “meh that was just ok”, they were all pretty good or really really good dishes. (Don’t you just love when that happens?) I am dying to come back for lunch or dinner, but for now it looks like I’ve got a new favorite place to have breakfast!

Favorite Beverage | The “Hollywood Hills” juice (non alcoholic, obvi) : Green Apple, Parsley, Spinach, Kale, Celery, Cucumber

Must Order | The Baked Eggs “En Cocotte” (Polenta, Roasted Chilies, Capers, San Marzano Tomato) was probably my favorite dish of the morning! A close second and third though was the Weiser Farm Potato Hash (Poblano Peppers, Carmelized Onions, Smoked Beef) and the Cornmeal Waffle (Blueberries & Cinnamon Whipped Ricotta).

Perfect Spot For | breakfast // lunch // dinner // meeting spot // people watching // a place to take out-of-towners // Instagrams

Fun Fact | Chef/Partner Geoffrey Zakarian has been a judge on Chopped and Next Food Network Star!
