If there’s one shoe I am seriously crushing on this year, it’s the mule. It took me a minute to get to this place, and now that I’m here I ain’t lookin’ back! I’m not typically drawn to flats, but there have been so many great flat mules coming out this year that I seem to have changed my tune a bit. I don’t think there’s a single girl in LA right now who doesn’t have a pair of mules to pair with their high waisted Levi’s. It’s definitely become part of the “LA girl” look, especially for Summer. We here in the City of Angels are all about ease, comfort, and yet anything “chic”, so mules seem to be the no brainer!
THE BEST MULES FOR SUMMER
You’ve probably seen tons of girls, especially on Instagram, wearing the beloved Gucci loafer mules. Most of us cannot afford said Gucci mules. But the good news is the trend has vastly expanded and can be found everywhere from small local brands to department stores. I got this particular pair from a really great little online boutique called CECloset, and I fell in love with just how absolutely ridiculous they are. Also, I would have never pegged myself to be a “velvet embroidered mule” kinda gal, but here I am – wearing them constantly, with all kinds of outfits. I love that mules really do go great with everything and can be worn in either a casual or business setting. And yes, I love to pair these with denim (mini skirt or jeans) and a casual t shirt, but I also love to wear these with trousers and a blouse. The embroidery on this particular pair makes it slightly trickier to just throw on with anything, but I love that they can also really jazz up a simple outfit. I get compliments constantly, so I’m happy to know I think I made the right move!
In other news… I’ll be at FYF Fest all weekend and hope to see you guys there!!! Be sure to check in on my social if you can’t be at the festival IRL! I’ll be enjoying tons of live music while trying not spill beer and pizza on myself, the usual. We’ll see how we do.
