I. Love. Midi-length. Anything.

There is just something about a dress or a midi-length skirt that has me immediately drawn. I feel like it’s the one cut that is instantly and non-negotiably chic, am I right? I found this particular midi skirt while perusing the site of one of my all-time favorite LA-based designers – Anine Bing – and even with the somewhat sweat-worthy price tag. There was very minimal hesitation over whether or not to get it. I just knew it’d be a closet staple, something I could wear through most seasons, and keep for years! (At least this is what I was telling myself.)

I LOVED the way Anine Bing had it styled on their site and social. Much to the similarity of my personal style, she styled the skirt with a classic graphic Anine Big T, a leather jacket, and her crazy popular ankle booties. It’s a no-brainer, easy to re-create, timeless, and instantly chic outfit.

First, you’ll need a midi length skirt – could be pleated like this one (there are tons out there right now!), could be a silk skirt (like this one that is everywhere as well!), or it could even be a more fitted/pencil skirt situation. Then layer that with either a graphic tee or a plain white tee and throw your favorite leather jacket on over it. Polish off the look – or spice it up depending on your bootie situation. Add either your new *very trendy* animal print booties and a bag with a pop of color and ta-da! You are ready for just about anything the day brings: work, brunch, dinner, drinks – you name it this outfit formula works. When spring/summer hits trade the booties out for some simple strappy sandals and you’re still good to go sister!
