THE BEST SWIMSUITS MONEY CAN BUY THIS SUMMER

So we’ve done a full rundown on what you need to pack for your next tropical getaway… and since it’s arguable that swimsuits are a major component – if not the most important component – they get a whole post all to themselves. As most of us I’m sure, I have a love/loath relationship with bathing suits – probably a bit more loathing than love if we’re being honest. I’ve never loved showing a ton of skin, I can’t honestly say I always feel comfortable and confident in swimsuits, and damn are they expensive tiny pieces of “clothing” or what?!

Well. I have to say. As I’ve gotten older I’ve gotten quite good at this “shopping for your body type” thing, and I still standby the fact that high waisted bikinis seem to work for just about everyone. Much like last year’s trip to Mexico, the swimwear theme on my recent trip to the Andaz Mayakoba definitely tended to lead towards the high waisted two pieces, and for once in my life I felt genuinely comfortable in these suits. I did my dudillegence trying on a ton and working with a silhouette I knew work for me and it paid off. So as someone who spent quite a bit of time on this, these are the swimsuits I would say are worth the investment this year:

TULAROSA TWO PIECE

So I found this bright, fun, and ADORABLE two piece on Revolve, it’s by the label Tularosa and if there was one suit I wore that got the most compliments, this one was the winner. This suit and this pattern come in a few other colors, and while I think this is on the pricier end, it was honestly worth all of the compliments! There really is nothing else out there that looks quite like it, which is good enough for me.

HOT PINK UO TWO PIECE

Sometimes you just need some neon on the beach. And really this is the PERFECT suit to pair with a good tan. I bought this knowing I just needed a more affordable suit that I could wear and not worry about it. I love the color, love the fabric, love the fit, and the price ain’t bad either.

BIKINI TOP ($54 and 30% off right now!) / BIKINI BOTTOM ($49 and 30% off right now too!)

ONIA ONE PIECE

I don’t always do one pieces since my torso is so long, but I LOVE LOVE LOVE the brand Onia and landed on this really cute orange striped number with a really great matching kimono coverup. Onia makes what I believe to be more vintage inspired swimsuits but with modern touches. Their recent collection with WeWoreWhat is some next level shit. Seriously, take a look. There isn’t a suit I dont want to buy. So if there were a brand I’ll be investing in a few more suits in… Onia would be it!
