| THE RUNDOWN |
I said it once (a day) and I’ll say it again, my happy place is wherever I can find a delicious bowl of noodles. And boy oh boy does aptly named “We Have Noodles” indeed have delicious noodles. Helmed by chef Darren Sayphraraj, We Have Noodles opened in the heart of Silver Lake just a few weeks ago with a concise menu that is focused on pan-Asian favorites. They’re offering all of the classics you know and love; everything from cold sesame noodles to pho, to khao soi, to ramen, and beyond. In short, it’s the place where all of your Asian noodle fantasies can come together in one convenient spot. And the best part? They’re all made quite fantastically. Sometimes I find that when a restaurant concept tries to do too many different things at once – *and do them all well* – everything ends up being just “ok”. But with We Have Noodles, I happened to be very pleasantly surprised to conclude that every noodle dish was delish in their own right. Authentic with certain creative licenses, but not off-puttingly so. Not a word, but let’s just go with it. If I lived any closer I’d probably be ordering from them on a daily basis.
| WHAT TO ORDER |
We Have Noodles offers a relatively small menu, which is great – you can try quite a bit at once! The standout dish for me though was the Kabocha Squash Khao Soi, especially since I’m already jonesin’ for those cozy Fall flavors. Besides the Khao Soi though I loved the Cold Sesame Noodles in all their nutty glory, and the Pho as well. I am actually not typically a pho fan – I know – but I absolutely loved We Have Noodle’s take on the classic dish. I liked the noodles they used better, I liked that it was more broth centric, and I loved how balanced it all tasted. We Have Noodles offers other treats besides just noodles, and I particularly loved the Fried Chicken Karaange and the Chicken and Black Truffle Dumplings en Brodo. They’re both great dishes to start with!
