Nothing says “Summer in LA” like going to an outdoor movie screening, and if there’s anyone setting the bar REAL high this season it’s Mr. C Hotel in Beverly Hills with their poolside cinema series. Forget letting your ass fall asleep on the cold hard ground, forget bringing your own food and drinks, and forget being forced to share a lot of personal space with your movie-going neighbors. At Mr. C you’ve got the beautiful setting, the cult classic films, the food, *the bellinis*, the service, AND the 5-star comfort all conveniently located in one magical poolside place. The “Mr. C Cinema” series launched June 7th with a screening of Almost Famous and has since had a screening every other Tuesday that will continue through August 30th.

Last night I had the pleasure of attending a showing of one of my all time favorite movies, The Grand Budapest Hotel, and after a movie experience like that it’s looking more and more impossible to go back to my old ways of ruffing it in a park. Hey, there’s a time and a place and a situation for all screenings, sure, but one should certainly never turn down an opportunity for optimal levels of comfort and enjoyment – might as well try it at least once! But what really makes Mr. C’s screenings special, besides everything already mentioned, is that you’re welcome and encouraged to enjoy a meal and cocktails in your lounger before the movie starts (or during should you choose). They’ve got a few meal options to choose from ranging from $35-$45 per person (excluding tax and 20% gratuity) that come with a variety of tasty treats and dishes such as popcorn, candy, salads, snacks, burgers, pasta, pizza, and a glass of wine or beer to pair. Doors open at 7 pm, movie starts promptly at sunset, and there you have it – #besttuesddaynightever.

// ALSO WORTH NOTING! //

On the Tuesdays when the hotel is not featuring a movie… they host a Spritz Social night that I ALSO loved attending!

“Beginning every other Tuesday from June 14 to August 23 from 5 p.m. till late (non-cinema evenings) hotel guests and locals alike are invited to enjoy the outdoors to the fullest at our pool deck with an exclusive Italian spritzer menu along with signature Cipriani dishes and Peroni Nastro Azzurro. Relax on plush loungers and couches or partake in fun activities like corn hole, life-size Jenga, and classic board games, while DJ Bobby French spins beats all evening long. This is a non-ticketed event, and seating is first come, first served but reservations can also be made.” – Mr. C
