We’re in the full swing of Summer and good news – floral prints are still a thing! I’ve never been one to stray too far from the grey scale but when I see a print I like, I take the leap. With that said though I’ve never been particularly drawn to the smaller forms of floral prints; there’s something very ‘snack time in the school yard’ to me about little daisy or rose printed pieces. But put a bold, abstract, (appropriately) colorful print in front of me and my inner girly girl goes “oo!!!”. Let’s be honest though, even just saying “floral print trousers” kind of makes us feel hesitant, right? Aren’t we supposed to leave the whole floral thing to blouses and crowns? I say nay. All that you need to remember is that as with any bold printed pant or bold anything, you gotta let it shine with minimal distractions. And the best way to do that is to keep everything else you’ve got going on with your outfit simple – this is where the grey scale comes in handy. I chose to let my fancy pants be fancy, but I wanted to give it a more casual California feel by throwing on one of my favorite T-shirts and a simple pair of heels to tie the look together. I went a little crazy with the sunglasses but as with anything in life, it’s all about balance. I could have easily gone with a bold lip instead but hey, it’s Summer and these shades are cool. Zara has a TON of awesome floral printed pants to try right now, many of which I saw on the sale racks, if you haven’t tried a bold printed pant there’s no better time than the present!
