White Trash Holiday Christmas Party | Villains Tavern

“I’m dreaming, of a white trash, Christmas…” and if there’s one bar in Los Angeles I’m sure could pull off an epic “1st annual” party, it’s most definitely Villains. The party is free to attend, and party-goers may expect to partake in an evening of $2 tall boys, jello shot molds, “trash can punch”, and a plethora of delightfully red-neck inspired bites to eat. (More info / official invitation here)

White Elephant Holiday Party | TART & The Farmers Daughter Hotel

Are you a lover of terrible gifts? Have no one to give that painted santa plate to this year? Well now you do because TART & The Farmers Daughter Hotel are hosting a white elephant party that includes free entry, passed appetizers (with the purchase of two cocktails), spiced and or spiked nog, and the entertainment of opening silly items gifted by strangers. The festivities begin at 7pm and runs till 10pm, and once you’ve got a gift you’re ready to let go of, whether it be trash or treasure, make sure you bring it wrapped and enjoy an evening of holiday inspired fun! Friday December 19

Hollywood Babble-On With Kevin Smith & Ralph Garman | Hollywood Improv

Two of my favorite men in comedy will be doing yet another installment of their live Hollywood Babble-On show at the Hollywood Improv, where as to be expected they will be dishing on the latest celebrity/Hollywood news and gossip. …In a incredibly satirical, hysterical, borderline inappropriate manner of course, which is a language I speak fluently. They tape the live podcast show every other week, so fret not if you can’t make it this particular Friday – check the Hollywood Improv calendar and pick another date! Tickets are $25, but the terrible and terribly funny things that come out of Kevin and Ralph’s mouths is priceless. (more info and tickets here)

Tacoteca | Santa Monica

Out with the old Charleston and in with the new Tacoteca. Ricardo Diaz (the brilliance behind some of LA’s best Mexican eateries like Gusiados and Colonia Taco Lounge) and his partner Adam Fleischman (Umami & more) have worked out a Westside concept and have recently opened up shop in the former Charleston spot in Santa Monica. Expect classy yet casusal, great Mexican dishes, and delicious cocktails. (tactoteca.com)

Santa Monica: 2460 Wilshire Blvd. Santa Monica, CA 90403

Terrine | Beverly Grove

As described by the restaurant themselves, Terrine is a “lively California Brasserie” with a French inspired, rustic, California flair menu prepared by chef Kris Morningstar. The space is incredibly gorgeous and they offer a patio that’s practically begging me to come out and enjoy like, today, and as of only a few days ago Terrine is offering just a dinner service starting at 5:30 pm. Brunch will soon be an option as well on Fridays (what!?), Saturdays, & Sundays starting January 2nd! (terrinela.com)
