5 CLOSET STAPLES YOU NEED THIS SPRING

5 CLOSET STAPLES YOU NEED THIS SPRING

The sun is shining, baseball season is back, and it’s beginning to finally feel like Spring in Los Angeles! Time to start shaving my legs again! Kidding, kind of. I have been having an absolute field day with Spring trends – cant get enough of these circle bags I’m seeing everywhere, small frame sunglasses, pastels, florals – so many trends! If we HAD to narrow it down to 5 crucial items though, worthy of investing in, these would be it:

FLORALS.

Let’s start with the obvious, the basics, yes – florals. You can always count on Reformation to give you the best floral print dresses, but I am absolutely obsessed with this bright red floral pencil skirt from Zara. It’s got a great pattern, a great color, and a flattering fit – that’s coming from a girl who believes she cant and shouldn’t wear pencil skirt. The material just makes it work for some reason, and for the price, I’ll take it!

CROP SWEATSHIRTS.

It’s not quite Summer, but we’re still not totally out of the woods from Winter. So what’s a great thing to throw on in 60-70 degree weather? A crop sweatshirt! Yes! They promote excellent air flow and they’re lightweight but still long sleeved. It’s the perfect piece for Spring – and also the absolute perfect thing to pair with all of these high waisted denim shorts/pants and high waisted trousers we’re seeing everywhere. I happened to get this particular crop sweatshirt featured above at Zara recently, but I know for a fact that shops like Free People and Urban Outfitters have a few that are worth taking a glance at. I can’t seem to find this exact red sweatshirt online, but I know it’s in store. In the meantime this sweatshirt is now in my shopping cart.

CIRCLE BAGS ARE CLOSE STAPLES NEED FOR SPRING

This bag shape is EVERYWHERE this year, and let me tell you I am here for it! I’ve got my go-to circular straw bag for those more relaxed “girl I’m on vacation” type looks, and I’ve also got this classy more refined number for my more “girl I’m going to work” looks. I’ve seen great circle bags from tons of brands – everyone from Clare V., Madewell, Cult Gaia, to Mansur Gavriel is making them! But this Brahmin bag in particular is one of my favorite things in my closet so far for 2018 – so chic, so classy, yet really fun and different.

SMALL FRAME SUNGLASSES.

I hate the term “mini” or “skinny” sunglasses, or whatever the hell most people are referring this style to as, so for the sake of my sanity we’ll call them “small frame sunglasses”. K. Now to the point – the 90’s are back baby. I can’t personally get down with the super tiny glasses, but I have found the perfect medium with these absolutely fabulous Le Specs X Adam Selman cat eye frames. These sunglasses are all over Instagram, but for a very good reason – they’re fu*king awesome. They come in black, white, pink, clear, and red – so far I’ve only invested in the classic black frames but I’m seriously considering going back for more!

SNEAKERS.

Vans, Converse, Superga, Puma, Adidas, Nike – doesn’t matter, you need at least one of each. At least that’s what I tell myself. These Superga X Alexa Chung high tops are my absolute FAVORITE FAVORITE sneakers I own right now though. They’ve got a very cool satin finish, they’re comfortable, and they’re the greatest blend between grunge and chic. They’ll be with me at Coachella for sure.
