All I want right now is to wear a sweater or a coat, and I’m finding it a tad difficult with our current weather report. It’s been such a tease seeing girls in NYC bundled up in their fabulous coats and sweaters or watching commercials of people playing in the snow or experiencing Fall. Meanwhile back in LA, we’re all just stuck in a scene straight out of Groundhogs Day with no real hope of cooler weather. I know, poor us, but still! We like seasons too ya know!
I don’t know about you, but I’ve been somewhat forcing Fall a bit with my wardrobe. And I’ve found that the easiest way to do that is to find the lightweight versions of all Fall necessities and style them accordingly. I love sweaters with shorts, or dusters with dresses., so on and so forth. But one of my favorite pieces right now is this super lightweight *but looks heavy duty* heather grey coat I got from Soksen Studios. This coat single handedly inspired me to even put a coat on in Los Angeles right now, and it has turned out to be a great wardrobe staple.
THE BEST LIGHTWEIGHT LAYERS FOR LA WEATHER
If you live in LA and you needed one type of coat I would highly suggest something of the sort. The great thing about a coat like this is the ability to layer and still look chic. You could just as easily wear this out with a dress and heels as you could with a sweater, scarf, and boots. I love having a heather grey coat in my closet – it goes with just about everything. And I’ve always been drawn to longer, past-the-knee coats; there’s something more tailored, structured, and special about them to me.
I’m leaving for NYC on Monday and I’d imagine I’ll be taking this with me! That is if it fits in my suitcase with my 5 other faux fur coats I’m so excited to finally wear.
