All I ever think about anymore is when will I get to have Magpies Softserve again. You think I’m being funny, and sadly I wish I was! But being that my favorite food is ice cream, and Magpies is special ice cream, it all a true story.
Magpies opened about a year ago and since then I have heard nothing but rave reviews from everyone that has gone. I’m honestly not quite sure what took me so long… maybe the distance, but now that I’ve been I can’t imagine NOT having it.
Magpies isn’t just any soft serve. Every single flavor and almost every topping is made from scratch in-house and trust me you can taste the difference. The idea for the shop stemmed from the desire to create a “chef-y Dairy Queen” and today they offer the most incredible “childhood inspired” flavors – both dairy AND non-dairy. They rotate out quite frequently, one day your flavor will be there the next a new delicious flavor will take its place. There are a few flavors that will always be available, such as the Sweetened Cream, the Malted Chocolate, and the Corn Almond, but otherwise there’s always something new to try. (love that.)
If you’re in need of the perfect excuse to treat yo’ self, get your butt over to Magpies for some softserve in a cone. If you’re feeling crazy you also have the option of picking up a softserve pie, a softserve bar, or even pints to go! Just don’t forget the toppings – those butterscotch rice krispies and the graham cracker streusel will completely change the way you feel about ice cream and toppings. For the better.
