I don’t know about you, but I ain’t scared of a little denim on denim, as a matter a fact I’m all about it?! I have been having way too much fun lately pairing denim pants with denim shirts or jackets. There’s something slightly “jailbird” about the whole look but I’m taking the stance that it’s the cool thing to do right now, not the silly dorky thing.
I feel like I’ve been slowly getting more people on board with the “Canadian tuxedo”, why I feel it necessary I’m not exactly sure, but it’s not exactly an easy look to master I will admit. If the denim pieces are too close in color it can look a bit too “uniform” like, the key is finding similar styles/washes or just pairing two completely different types of denim and seeing how they look together – sometimes it works sometimes it doesn’t!
The Canadian tuxedo is not for everyone, but right now it’s such a fun trend to play around with you might as well try it once. Even if it’s a chambray top with shorts, or a denim jacket with denim mom jeans, you’ll find your perfect version of the tux! It’s a great look for Spring and could be the perfect look to try for any upcoming festivals – pair it with a strappy sandal, an ankle boot or a bold heel and you’re good to go!
