It’s no secret that high wasted vintage Levi’s are IN this year. It’s something even I have admittedly gone a bit gaga over, but finding the right pair(s) sure has proven to be quite the adventure. You’d think it’d be easy to find TONS of Levi’s in LA, and to a degree it is, but something always seemed amiss when I was hunting. Either they were too expensive, the inventory was low, or they just weren’t what I had in mind. I actually ended up finding a ton of great Levi’s in Chicago of all places for $40 – $50 a pop which was incredible. I’m told though, for all of you Angelenos on the lookout for your very own 505’s, that the places to go are the Fairfax Flea and of course the Rose Bowl Flea – tons of options, all available for relatively fair prices.

The key I discovered to finding your perfect pair of vintage Levi’s is to completely ignore the waist size – if you’re a 27, in vintage Levi’s you’re probably actually a 30. Don’t cry just accept and carry on, theĀ sizing was just different way back when! šŸ˜‰Ā Another thing I suggest is don’t be afraid of how much you hate the hem at first. I couldnt stand how much I actually looked like a mom in some of the jeans I tried on. The bottoms of all three pairs I bought were just not flattering one bit, so you know what I did? I cut ’em off! Raw hem is huge right now and you can totally do it yourself. Figure out where you want your jeans to hit around your ankle, roll them up to that line or draw with a pen and cut. Throw them in the wash and they’ll fray even more.

Pair them bad boys with a silk cami and boom – LA style to a T! And speaking of silk, another recent discovery of mine is LA based sexy silky garmentsĀ brandĀ Goldhawk. This brand is at the forefront of making negligĆ© appropriate to incorporate with streetwear attire. They make the most gorgeous camis, tops, dresses, button downs, and more; I walked in to their pop-up on La Cienega (located right next to Playlist Yoga and directly across from Ep + Lp) and couldn’t find one thing I didn’t want to take home with me. Their collection isĀ STUNNING, if you’re in the area and looking for some quality goodies drop in and check it out.
