After seeing about the 7th photo of the same gorgeous space, it was time I figured out exactly what this place called The Now was all about and why all of my friends/peers were obsessing over it. I sensed it had something to do with “relaxing”, and I figured it had to have something to do with massages, but what the heck made this particular gorgeous “spa” (of which there are s e v e r a l in LA) so dang popular was beyond me. Well as it turns out, “massages starting at $35” at a place that doesn’t have neon signs, consistently closed blinds and an overall sketchy vibe is a really attractive advertisement. I’d imagine the general consensus is that we’re all totally down with $35 massages, but you like me probably worry there’s got to be some sort of catch. Thankfully the “catch” isn’t exactly a catch so much as it really is just a totally new concept. Think of The Now like this: you’ve got the spa like space with the spa like services, but take away certain factors like robes, showers, private rooms, hot tubs, saunas, etc. and make it a place where you can go and have that nice massage whenever you feel like, but get in and get out. There’s obviously something to be said about the full spa experience, but for those of you who are like me and want to have spa days all the time but don’t exactly have the budget to pull that off (or those of you who just want damn good massages regularly but don’t want to fuss with the spa part), this is where The Now comes in and fills the void.
I personally had the best first time experience and 100% get why all of my friends are visiting The Now time and time again. The services, the staff, the space, all could not have been more enjoyable and the prices are just the icing on the cake! Bye bye boring massage schools and questionably concerning foot spas and hello to The Now; I’ll be a regular in no time I guarantee.

FYI
You might be surprised to find that there are no actual massage rooms with doors and four walls, but that doesn’t mean you won’t have privacy. The massage rooms are separated by canvas drapes, but fear not – you can hardly hear anyone else around you, and even if you do, it’s just quiet background noise. Trust me, I am the last person cool with noise going on around me or worrying about privacy when I’m trying to relax and I wasn’t bothered by anything in the least.
