Love and Loathing LA Miami Swimweek

I left Miami just one week ago and I’m STILL dreaming of those gorgeous sandy beaches filled with gorgeous sandy people. It was actually my very first time visiting the palm and fluffy cloud laden city by the sea, and Swimweek could not have been a more perfect way to experience everything Miami had to offer. Swimweek, incase you’re wondering, is similar to what might happen during NY Fashion Week, but instead of clothes the focus is based around showcasing swimwear collections! It is always hosted in Miami and with each new year the brands/parties/shows are becoming increasingly more popular and sought after. I was very fortunate to have been invited to join KYBOE! watches for a whole weekend of fun, and oh the fun I did have.

Friday night a group of us attended the KYBOE! show which featured quite a bit of the KYBOE! watch collection paired with perfectly crafted and matched swimsuits designed by owner and CEO Marc Bell’s lovely wife. After the show a group of us moved on to cocktails at the Setai Hotel, then on to a few local parties including one hosted by TREATS mag. Saturday consisted mostly of spending some quality time on the beach, sipping on cocktails in coconut vessels, making new friends, and swimming in that 80 degree bathwater of an ocean. That evening a group of us party bussed our way out of town to the Bell’s beautiful estate in Boca Raton (worth a casual $35 mil) where we were treated to an incredible meal made by Todd English himself. If you were keeping up with my Snaps… you’d remember that wasn’t all we were treated to – Star Trek movie theater and Andy Warhol paintings galore anyone?

Between fashion shows, parties, cruising around Wynwood and trying to keep up with those ‘South Beach chic’ standards, it was definitely the time and place to dress my best. Something about being in Miami and it being Summer inspired me to wear a lot of white. I say that like I’m the first person to associate “Miami” with “wearing white”, but whatever the inspiration, the color served me well against such beautiful and colorful backdrops that seem to be a dime a dozen in that town.

Personal Note: Next time you visit Miami, whether that be for Swimweek or just because, be sure to visit Wynwood – it’s a neighborhood that is basically what I’d consider to be a street art museum. It’s one of the coolest most incredible places I’ve ever had the pleasure of visiting and it’s a Miami must!

I’d especially like to thank KYBOE! watches for my gorgeous white Reflector as well as for hosting me for such a fun filled and wonderful weekend! Thank you thank you thank you for the experience and all of the happy memories.
