Love and Loathing LA Alfred Tea

Matcha, and oolong, and chai teas OH MY. Beloved LA staple and fashionable favorite coffee brand Alfred Coffee has decided to broaden their horizons and develop a whole new concept dedicated to the fine art of tea. Much like its older Alfred Coffee brothers, the very pink and adorable Alfred Tea boasts an almost literal eye candy esthetic with every single inch bordering on Insta-worthy captures. Alfred’s “fancy pink tea menu” offers around 30 different types of artisanal tea sourced from across the globe and ranges from a variety of green, white, black, and herbal teas.

The tea room officially opened as of today, and even at 11am was filled with LA’s finest (myself included) dying to get the first look inside what is sure to be LA’s latest and greatest place to take a million photos. And fashionably sip on a beverage of course. I for one am all about a dedicated tea joint; I’d love for tea to be as sought out and hip as coffee. I’ve just now decided that #maketeacoolagain will be the hashtag, and we’ll just sit back and watch the rest of the world catch on and copy all the tea trends being created in Los Angeles. Alfred Tea Room in particular though does a spectacular job of making tea a bit more exciting; not only do you have 30 different types of beautiful tea to enjoy all by themselves (hot or cold), but you’ve got other great ways to enjoy the teas by way of tea lattes, ceremonial matcha, thai tea, kombucha, nitro teas, and my personal favorite – boba teas. (That rose boba tea is no freaking joke.) The quality associated with the brand continues to be upheld, and judging by business on the first day I think it’s safe to say that yet again that Alfred is on to something big here.
