What can us gals never have enough of? Besides In n Out? Beauty products. By all means give us all of the makeup, all of the moisturizers, and all the latest and greatest products for us to pile on our bathroom counters – please and thank you. I find that personally I am always in the market for products and brands worth supporting; especially those who started locally, actually have our best interest at heart, and are doing good by the ingredients and therefore the environment. (Nice packing however: always an added bonus.) In honor of a fresh new season that is sure to bloom all types of beauty here are a few of my favorite recent discoveries worthy of front and center bathroom counter space.
// PRODUCT DETAILS //
1. // PASTEL POLISHES //
BRAND // NCLA
NCLA is a local Los Angeles brand I love not only for their incredible shades but their quality product. They’re one of the new brands out there that are “5 free” which means their products are 100% vegan, non-toxic, and free of formaldehyde, DBP, toluene, formaldehyde resin, and camphor. AND: they don’t test on animals. If you’re looking for your next “spring” inspired mani/pedi situation, look no further.
2. // LUMINIZING MOISTURE TINT //
BRAND // JOUER
Jouer is a brand I’m sad to say I wasn’t all to familiar with until about a month ago. My makeup artist extraordinaire Rachelle Llanes is a huge fan of the brand and used a number of their products on me for a big photoshoot I was in. Since then I too have fallen in love with the brand, especially their “luminizing moisture tint” that is the perfect product for that light weight yet glowy look that also doubles as an SPF!
Luminizing Moisture Tint – $40
3. // OIL BASED CLEANSER //
BRAND // TATA HARPER
Oil cleansers are all I’m hearing about lately and if there’s a brand ahead of the curve on that one it’s Tata Harper. Tata is well known for their 100% natural and non-toxic products that are all handmade in Vermont. They make everything from makeup to skincare products but Tata’s Nourishing Oil Cleanser is definitely a fan favorite.

4. // BEAUTY FROM THE INSIDE OUT //
BRAND // MOON JUICE
If you live in LA, if you’re a fan of juice, then you’re likely familiar with local health conscious brand Moon Juice. Beyond what’s pressed Moon Juice packages and produces a variety of pantry items, tonics, apothecary items, and my personal favorite, “moon dusts”. Moon dusts, as explained by Moon Juice, “work synergistically at the deepest levels to heal and enhance your beauty, brain, body, sexual energy, sleep and spirit. These transformative formulas are alchemized with the most potent organic and wild-crafted herbs, adaptogenic plants, and bioactive minerals available.” This is “edible beauty” at it’s finest, and the “Beauty Dust” is their most popular dust and is comprised of Goji, Rehmannia, Pearl, Schisandra, and Stevia. I add a scoop to my coffee and voila – beauty in a cup.
“Beauty Dust” – $65
5. // ALL-IN-ONE BALM //
BRAND // NUCIFERA
Two words: coconut oil. If you weren’t aware yet, it’s good for just about E V E R Y T H I N G in life and can be used in more ways that you’d probably imagined. Nucifera has created the perfect one-stop-beauty-shop product called “the balm”, and the balm is simply an organic, vegan, raw, plant-based skin product made of yummy essentials like coconut oil, mango butter, and more oils and more butters! You can use this *incredible smelling* stuff on your face, hair, scalp, skin, hands, feet, nails and more to experience this all-in-one creation. In my experience it’s been a perfect skin care travel essential!
“The Balm” – $37
6. // LIGHT LIPSTICK //
BRAND // KOSÅS
Kosås is another local LA based brand making an incredible product – so incredible in fact that their small collection of just four shades have literally all become my favorite new lipsticks. Kosås produces small batches and each pigment is meant to compliment and flatter any skin tone and enhance natural beauty; I love the lighter shades like Rosewater and Undone for a fresh daytime look and the darker/red shades for a classic evening look. Kosås is the epitome of “effortless chic” and with their values rooted in producing quality products made from quality cruelty free ingredients… you can now see why I gush.
