Hotel BEL-AIR! I don’t know about you but I was sold at “Hotel”, “Bel-Air”, and their tagline: “cross the exquisite Swan Lake and stroll through the stunning paradise gardens of this exclusive oasis”. There’s nothing quite like going on a mini vacation in your own town, even if it’s just out to breakfast at one of the world’s greatest cozy hotels. Hotel Bel-Air’s sister property, The Beverly Hills Hotel, is the slightly more lively one of the two, but what a treat it was to dine and stroll around such a peaceful gorgeous property. If you can’t afford a staycation, don’t worry neither can I, splurging on a meal at the restaurant curated by Wolfgang Puck is most certainly the next best way to treat yourself.

There’s something so “continental” about breakfast at a hotel; I feel like that’s probably the only time I really ever eat real breakfasts! The restaurant at the hotel offers fresh squeezed juices – the green juice being my favorite – fresh fruit, French press coffee, and a variety of typical yet perfectly prepared breakfast items. The blueberry pancakes in particular are not to be missed, I consider myself quite the pancake snob and these were pure perfection. Not too fluffy, not to filling, totally buttery, complete with bonus flavors like blueberry and cinnamon to boot. (See? Pancake snob.) Whether you’re craving something simple like yogurt, something baked, or something egg based, this menu has you completely covered.

Visiting one of LA’s most historic, luxurious, and above all beloved hotels this week, even if  just for an afternoon, was a treat I will never forget. The next time you’re feeling down but can’t get out of town, a meal at the Hotel Bel-Air is where you need to “escape” and treat yourself. Get your mini vacation on and do it up right.
