Business in the front, party in the back. All black, all day. But if there’s a trend a-brewing for Fall that all of us warm weather dwelling ladies can get on board with it’s the slip dress. Of course we’re still thrilled that there will even be dress trends making a comeback for Fall like shifts, bohemian style cuts and patters and dresses with scarfs and ties. For me personally though lately, the slip style dress is my current go-to silhouette as it’s been in the 90’s in LA almost this entire week! In other words shoulders must be bare! The dress must be lightweight and loose! But never should one have to forego feeling good yet being on trend just because of that darned heat.

If you’re a Reformation girl like myself then you probably bought out 1/2 of what was available on the highly anticipated online-only ‘SALE’ as well. I waited and watched as the prices dropped, and dropped some more, then finally halted at 70% off wherein I managed to score and scoop up this little black slip dress number featured right here. I say it all the time, but living in LA is such a privilege because the second sandals and dresses go on-sale I swoop in and buy them all and wear them for another whole season! Because what is snow and cold?! Fortunately however when it comes to a dress like this, black with a trendy cut and a trendy tie accent, there are so many ways in which to work with this silhouette. When it’s hot, throw on a pair of flat sandals like the ones I’m wearing and call it a day, when it cools off throw on a long peacoat or a leather jacket with some boots and you’re warm yet still completely stylin’.

I’ve been gearing up for Fall yet still trying to stay cool in this heatwave so I’ve been wearing this dress a lot lately with my favorite comfy Beek leather sandals and a neutral wide brim hat to add a fun little somethin’ somethin’ to the look. Get into the slip dress trend while there’s still light but remember no matter what season it is, Reformation and the color black are always good ideas.

Style Note: I just discovered Beek sandals and words can hardly being to describe how in love I am with this brand. All you leather/natural color loving Angeleno girls it’s time to get with the program and support this awesome local business!
