Overview | Cadet is a recent new-comer to the LA brunch game and right off the bat, the Cadet “pancake, eggs, + other brunch items” game is strong. Everything was not only beautiful to just look at, it was enjoyable to eat. You know that saying “you can’t have your cake and eat it too”? Well, at Cadet you kinda can. One of the notable aspects to Cadet is their focus on wood-fire cooked dishes, and even at 10am you can smell the distinct smokey, camp-firey smell that wafts through the entire restaurant. Never have I ever wanted BBQ so early in the morning. Amongst the delicious food is of course a delicious and Restoration Hardware-esque, rustic chic setting – I think I announced aloud that I wanted to decorate my house in an almost identical French/grey/mismatched/brick inspired manner, the Cadet ambiance/decor is certainly a major selling point. Get your brunch reservations stat because I have a feeling they’re going to be hard to come by in the coming weeks! But don’t forget Cadet is also open for lunch and dinner everyday, hours listed below.
Favorite Drink | Bottomless mimosas. If we’re talkin’ brunch, which we are.
Must Order | The biscuits (they’re kind of a big deal), the Dutch pancake, and the bacon + tomato tartine. Yes, all three.
Perfect Spot For | Just about any occasion truth be told – girls brunch, family brunch, date brunch, solo brunch, cocktails, lunch and totally dinner?!
Pro Tip | Besides the bottomless mimosa situation during brunch, the cocktail program available at any time is beyond incredible. Head bartender Gabrielle Mlygnarczyk (formerly Ink) is one of the most creative bartenders Los Angeles has the pleasure of calling one of their own, and her Cadet cocktails are already creating a buzz – read the LA Mag article about them here.
Fun Fact | Gwyneth Paltrow and Jonathan Gold are fans. ‘Nuff said.
