With an air of classic and chic “French glamour” coupled with the unmistakable appeal of “minimalist LA” overtones, designer Clare Vivier, an LA native, creates the perfect collection of handbags and accessories for the fashion and style maven masses. Since 2008 Clare V has been designing, creating, and monogramming a line of gorgeous leather accessories at their flagship storefront in the Silverlake neighborhood. After years of continued success and praise, Clare V has since opened locations in New York, Santa Monica, and is scheduled to open yet another boutique in West Hollywood.

Real talk time. Since I moved to LA 4 years ago and became familiar with the Clare V. brand, accessorizing myself with one of her bags is all I’ve ever wanted. You’re thinking, “wow, bit dramatic wouldn’t you say?” I feel a lot of feelings about Clare V. but no, one of her bags has always been high on my purchase priority list. I am a lover and appreciator of fashion and fine things, but I am well aware of the fact that my budget does not exactly make dropping stacks of cash monies on Chanel or Prada bags a wise choice. But. While Chanel may (sadly) never ever happen, Clare V. has always been my next level “must have” / “want very badly” item that always felt like the more tangible major purchase of my options. $200 – $600 for a bag isn’t cheap I realize, but it’s a crap-ton more realistic and justifiable than $2000 – $6000.

4 years later and hundreds of clarev.com stalking adventures later, I finally got my dream girl: the Black Basketweave “Sandrine” bag. The Sandrine is one of many of my Clare V. dream girls, but a dream girl all the same. Now that I have a bag of my very own, to have and to hold, to love and to cherish, I can say with confidence that it was worth every damn penny. The quality, craft, and care that goes in to every Clare V. is blatantly evident, and whether it’s a simple clutch, a tote, or a sac, every girl deserves to own a Clare V. bag – trust me, if you’re saving your pennies for a purse, go with a Clare V.
