The New Kitchen on the Block | Madera Kitchen, Hollywood

Home / FOOD (+ BEVERAGE) / The New Kitchen on the Block | Madera Kitchen, Hollywood

Last week I had the pleasure of attending the grand opening of Madera Kitchen, hosted by White Oak Premium Vodka and Press Pass LA, and let me tell you… I’m beyond thrilled to welcome another eatery to the Hollywood area with a clear appreciation for design, art, ambiance and (obviously) food. I’ve been patiently waiting for a place like Madera to open in this neighborhood for quite some time, I adore the “Cahuenga staples” as I like to call them (Big Wangs, Velvet Marg, Kitchen 24, you know) but it was time for something fresh, exciting, and eye-catching (sans neon signs) to open in this part of town.

In all truthfulness all I needed to know pre attendance to Madera was “Mediterranean food” and “patio”, but without really any further knowledge or expectations I was beyond impressed with the overall experience – not an easy feat during a busy grand opening! First thing noted: Madera Kitchen is simply gorgeous. Second thing: the patio is huge (WOO! we love big patios don’t we!!!). And lastly, the food and wine list is far from a disappointment. Madera clearly made an effort to create a space worth hanging around for an extended period of time – it boasts an open floor plan (half indoor half outdoor), the lighting is warm, and the art/design elements are all things you look at and say to yourself, “oo? I want that in my house? Actually, I want all of this in my house??”. Maybe that was just me, but the space is actually very reminiscent of a home; ‘an airy, perfect, impeccably decorated, greatest patio ever’ kinda home, that is.

People, Madera opened just in time for us to take advantage of the warm weather because their patio is going to be your new favorite place to be this summer.  The menu has a variety of Mediterranean inspired dishes to share (or not) and prices range from $6-$25 – totally affordable. Inside secret: order the mushroom/Humboldt fog flatbread or regret your poor decision not to. If you’re looking for a place to kick back and enjoy a light food and beverage affair, Madera is going to be the new hot spot to hang.
