Blendtec Assembles All-Star Chef Lineup for the DWTS Wrap Party at Riviera 31 of the Sofitel Los Angeles

It doesn’t get more “Hollywood” than attending a movie premiere or television wrap party and I’m not exactly known for partaking in these star-studded events all that often… but… when the opportunity presents itself… and the invite includes guaranteed top-notch chefs making a fair amount of creative and cutting edge dishes to enjoy… you do not turn that down.

The DWTS Wrap Party as a whole was a complete success from top to bottom, start to finish – Riviera 31 at the Sofitel (one of my favorite hotel lounges) was the perfect venue, the attendees were gorgeous and in celebratory spirits, but the food experience brought to us by Blendtec and MasterChef Scott Fischer was by far the highlight of the evening. Truly an unexpected, unbelievable treat.

A fun and interesting twist to the menu, as discovered during my conversation with Chef Scott, is that each dish was prepared with the use of Bledtec blenders. Sounds kind of like a Top Chef challenge right?! Well some actual Top Chefs, some MasterChefs, and other world class chefs were there to participate including Whitney Miller, Bernard Guillas, Mario Cassineri, Emilio Tiburcio, Christopher Maggetti, Frankie “The Bull” Terzoli, Avis White, and Cris Patolot. I’d imagine the true challenge was creating such an innovative and varietal menu, but Chef Scott and the Blendtec “culinary dream team” chefs successfully executed that test beyond any expectations.

I’m proud yet somewhat ashamed to say I tried every single dish, of which there was around 15-20. I can feel you judging me, but it had to be done – I even went back for a few seconds (GASP). Everything from beverages (blended cocktails, smoothies), appetizers (ceviche, mushroom soup), entrees (gumbo, fried chicken, beef cheeks), to dessert (cookies, avocado ice cream, edible chocolate dance floor) was served. It’s impossible to pick a favorite, in all seriousness all of the dishes were worth having seconds over. But for the record… I’ve never had Gumbo or fried chicken quite like Avis White’s. Mind blowing.

Huge congrats are in order to Dancing With the Stars, Blendtec, and Chef Scott for putting on an original, incredible, not to mention incredibly tasty event. It was most certainly not your average wrap party and for that we attendees are grateful for the memorable experience. You probably weren’t there so I’m just rubbing this in more, but if you have the opportunity to have a meal prepared by any of the chefs above, take it!
